The Studios
As a Hogarth member you are invited to participate in as many studio classes as you wish. We have a full array of traditional and modern activities that have been tailored to suit all ages and all fitness levels.
Our studio classes are group based and instructor led. Participation is a great way of meeting other members whilst honing your individual skills in a particular activity.
With the addition of our brand new holistic studio, located on a new second floor, Pilates, Yoga and core stability classes can now take place in a dedicated, thermatically controlled environment ideal for classes of this type. Our existing studio now homes our choregraphed classes as well as BodyPump, Group Cycle Classes, Circuits and the like.

A class blended with aerobics & body conditioning exercises to give you an all round workout.
Ab Attack
Abdominal exercises to gain and maintain fabulous abdominal muscles. Stretchworks specialised fitness class using stretching and strengthening exercises that are adapted to individual needs and ability.
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga gradually leads the participant to rediscover his or her fullest potential on all levels of human consciousness - physical, psychological and spiritual. Through this practice of correct breathing (Ujjayi Pranayama), postures (asanas), and gazing point (driste), one gains control of the senses and a deeper awareness of self. Maintaining this discipline with regularity and devotion, one acquires steadiness of body and mind.
Belly Dancing
Learn the secrets of this sensual art, no need to dress any different to any other class, trackies and trainers are fine. Express yourself to the intoxicating rhythms!
Body Conditioning
A total body work out. Strengthening and re-defining your muscles using hand held weights & body bars.
Bodypump
Bodypump is a class using barbells and adjustable weights to tone and condition muscles while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat-burning. Inspirational music and a highly motivational instructor key components of a great class.
Box Circuit
Get ready to sweat! This challenging class will incorporate kick-boxing with intervals of conditioning drills. Designed to challenge all fitness levels, everyone is guaranteed an excellent cardio workout as well as developing strength.
Core Stability
Core Stability training is designed to effectively recruit the trunk musculature and then learn to control the position of the lumbar spine during dynamic movements.
H20
Combines the buoyancy and resistance of the water to give you a terrific cardiovascular and strength workout.
Hatha Yoga
The most popular form of yoga Hatha emphasise health and wellbeing through breathing exercises, special postures called asanas and concentration. Yoga has proven a very effective way to blend exercise with relaxation techniques.
Hi/Lo
Pull up your socks and tie back your locks for this high and low intensity aerobic work out.
Kick Boxing
An exciting way of getting into shape with this circuit based kickboxing class. Get fit without getting hit!
New 2 Cardio
A Class designed for members who are completely new to exercise and want to improve their fitness and muscle tone.
Pilates
Pilates represents a unique approach to exercise that develops body awareness, improving and changing the body's postural and alignment habits and increasing flexibility and ease of movement.
Pre/Post Natal
Physical activity plays a very important part of a woman's overall health and well-being, even more so when she is pregnant or if she has just given birth. These classes are designs especially for pre & post natal woman and are highly beneficial for mother and baby.
Power Walk
Take a walk with the gym team along the river, great way to start the day.
Relax & Meditate
Yoga based class to relax you before the weekend starts.
Scaravelli Yoga
A progressive physical practice of yoga with the intention of leading one to the vital core. It is here that strength grows into lightness. Refining the awareness opens the vision to wholeness and harmony, guided by this intention and concept. This becomes a way of being, a form of meditation, which allows for new sensation and a different approach to asana.
Sivananda Yoga
A Hindu discipline aimed at training the consciousness for a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquillity. A system of exercises practiced as part of this discipline to promote control of the body and mind.
Spinning
For the cycling enthusiast and for those looking to improve cardiovascular fitness. The class consists of basic athletic and rhythmic drills with great music to motivate and encourage you. You will use speed and resistance to give a realistic and challenging workout. The ultimate calorie killer!
Step Aerobics
A challenging workout to pre-choreographed routines based around the use of a low bench/step. Particularly working the legs but also enhances coordination skills.
Step & Tone
This class will offer simple step combinations with added power and strength moves. Exercises that will challenge all fitness levels and the resistance training will challenge your strength limitations. Circuit Stations of individual or partner exercises mixed in with good old fashioned cardiovascular training and resistance based exercises with the group. This is a great class if you are looking for a little variety in your everyday routine.
Street Dance
Exercise is fun in this class designed for the wanna-be dancer. Ballet and jazz warm-ups, with easy dance choreography will be done to a variety of music.
Stretchworks (Advanced)
This class is designed for the advanced stretchworks student. If you would like to attend please check with your instructor Alison to find out if this level is suitable for you.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi teaches you the awareness of one's own balance and what affects it, awareness of the same in others, and appreciation of the practical value in one's ability to moderate extremes of behaviour and attitude at both mental and physical levels. Chinese system of physical exercises designed especially for self-defence and meditation.
